| Thanks for everyone's participation to
make the Fulton Amateur Radio Club Special Event Station a big
success! The club's annual summer picnic was combined with the
special event station, so it turned out to be a great response all the
way around.
A few statistics from the special event station: We had a total of 302 QSOs, 32 states, 2 provinces, 2 DX (St. Martin, England). Most of the day we operated on 20m and later in the day we moved to 40m. See the photos from the event. For QSL card, send a SASE to W2TQF. |

Press Release from June 2007:

Fulton Amateur Radio Club celebrates 50th anniversary with Special Event StationOn Saturday, July 21, 2007, The Fulton Amateur Radio Club will operate a Special Event Station to commemorate the group’s 50th Anniversary. Club members will set up a two-way radio station at Bullhead Point on the shore of Lake Neatahwanta, Route 3, Fulton and operate from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. EDT. They will attempt to make radio contact with as many other national and international amateur radio stations as possible and share information about the club and the City of Fulton. Club callsign W2CXV will be used. In addition to being an enjoyable activity, Special Event Stations give Amateur Radio Operators (hams) practical experience in setting up operations in less than ideal conditions. Ham Radio continues to provide major emergency communications links during power outages, tornadoes, hurricanes and other times when conventional communications fail. The primary purposes of the Fulton Amateur Radio Club are to promote the use of Amateur Radio for emergency communication, foster interest in radio/electronics and to provide license training and testing. The public is invited to stop by to see Amateur Radio in action. Local Amateurs and Shortwave Listeners (SWLs) are encouraged to tune in. |
